I first started breeding my rats in high school because we were breeding in class and I had a lot of classmates who wanted baby rats. My first litter was to my pairing Nacho and Nadine who gave me my first heart rat Valentina, and I stopped breeding for a while before having three more litters to look after.
Since my younger years I've owned rats as pets and taught them tricks, but soon they aged all too quickly and passed away. I breed rats so they can be healthier than most rats and live longer, even up to five years instead of three to four. Its just not long enough!
That's why we are extra diligent with their diets and daily and weekly routines. They are happier and they are getting more nutritional value for meals which means we're looking at longer life spans and the litters becoming stronger! 🐭
